Today in math we were learning about Te waa ( Time. ) I learnt that the long hand on a clock measures the minutes and the short hand measures the hours, the clock with hands is called an analogue clock and that there are 24 hours in a day and night. I don't think I need help but having worksheets to work on would help as well.
I am a student at Bay of Islands College in Kawakawa, New Zealand. This is a place where I share my learning.

Reading.
This week in reading we were learning about text to self, text to text and text to world In our groups. Our teacher let us choose our own book and I chose The rule of thoughts. The easy part was learning how to use text to self. My next step is to learn how to use text to text and text to world.
Talk moves.
This week we were learning how to use talk moves in math. The talk moves are to help us understand other people's answer in math. A sentences I use occasionally is what is another strategy we can use to check. I think I need a little more work with the talk moves because they really do help me understand math better.
Rotarota
This week we were learning how to do word connection poems in pairs. The easy part was placing the photos on the paper. The hard part was to think of words that associated with the words we chose. Here is a photo of mine and my buddy's work.
Kiwiana
This term our Reading project was Kiwiana and I chose to do Kiwiana Icons. The easy part was finding kiwiana icons. The hard part was finding non Kiwiana icons. Here is my slide of kiwiana icons and non kiwiana icons

My day.
Today My class was split up because the year fives and sixes are off to camp. I was placed in room 5 and I will be in their class for the whole week. The fun part of the day was when we did fitness. The boring part of the day was doing our PAT math test though I know it is an important test to take. The rest of the day was fine and fun. Can't wait to see what we do for the rest of the week.

Persuasive.
This week we were doing persuasive writing. Here is my writing, it's about if sports is better than kapa haka. Have a read.
Sports is better than kapa haka.
Sports is better than kapa haka.
To begin with I say kapa haka is better than sports because it helps with singing.
To start with kapa haka can help you with your confidence and it can help you with your discipline.
Secondly I say kapa haka is better because you can get fit by doing all the haka jumps and performing the haka your hardest.
Another reason kapa haka is better than sports is that you get to learn new songs, new haka and new action songs to perform to your family.
One thing I know for sure is kapa haka is better than sports because it helps with your confidence and discipline. You can get fit by doing haka jumps and performing the haka your hardest. You get to learn new songs, new haka and new action songs to perform to your family. all in all I say kapa haka is better than sports, what do you think?
